Just about every JLG video I see has people voting thumbs down. What's not to like about this video? Sure if someone wants to buy a junker bike and a Harbor Freight motor, they can save money, but so what. This guy is making cool little mopeds for those who might just want to putt around. I loved the sound! There was a designer guy in L.A. who made cool bespoke mopeds, but I can't seem to find him anymore--the guy who played Dr. House on TV (Hugh Laurie) had one.

"all American" "American made" "American company" "American built" "bought engines from China" A £150 engine and a £300 bicycle frame for £6000. Sounds about right.
-
I don't think that Chinese motor will ever use a full gallon of fuel before it blows the head
-
Hey BTW Jay why do you ride without glasses or eye protection out there? We can't do that here in the People's Republic of Illinois.
-
No license, no registration and a 16 year old can ride on the same streets as my licensed and registered and MSF safety course passed and DMV passed son on his Harley. Naaaaa, I'll go legal in Illinois and let my children do the right thing. That is the right thing in my opinion. No problem with this man doing what he's doing though, I think it's great but wish the engine could be one built by Union men and women and not something we import. Too many issues with those import scooters that are not sold through local dealers. Support your local dealers or one day you won't have any. It's coming, safe the future.

Where they get their riding helmets?

FB have a few groups on gas powered bikes and ebikes where participants can submit their own builds. check them out

there too much fun

So it's a really expensive Chinese motorized bicycle. Having trouble justifying that price point. Maybe in California where motorized bicycles are street legal, they are not in my home state of PA. Better off with a $500 moped, at least you can register those.

cool bikes i started on a kawasaki kx 60cc

Better off buying a complete motorcycle from China...much cheaper

$6000 to look ghetto and get smoked by a Prius.
You can buy a brand new 300-500cc for 6k or a used 600cc for 4k. -

How much would it be to fill up money wise just wondering?
-

-
Ive built three of these for 400 dollars a piece.

I motorized my bike for $400. Honda GX35 on a Staton Friction Drive. 30mph top speed, 140mpg.

There's a nice company based in Tokyo that I know called "Snake Motors" that makes very similar retro 50cc and 125cc bikes. All Japanese-made. Brilliant bikes.

These so-called Phantom Bikes aren't really worth more than a grand. The bikes are actually a 26'' Felt "Slater" ($549) with a 49cc HuaSheng Engine Kit ($269) and a $50 paint job to cover all the logos from Felt and HuaSheng. Don't waste your money on these bikes. You can build a much nicer one for 1/4 the price he's selling them for. If however want to throw $6,000 into a bicycle contact me and I'll build you one 10 times nicer than this guy is selling. See my videos for examples.
