Just found this. Nicely done, sir!
What makes me laugh about all the "Shiny-Shiny" fantechboys is they can never understand that technology use is simply a form of tool use, and like tools you always use the right tool for the right job. You wouldn't use a hammer to drive in bolts, but these guys would use Node.js (and other things like Angular and MongoDB) for every occasion, not realizing that using them in the wrong scenario actually makes things worse, not better. The history of IT is the reinvention of the same kinds of things, only with different names. -
Awesome video. Not b/c I agree that NodeJS is crap, but b/c of the points covered.
I can't claim, but my thoughts are that people invent wheels with NodeJS and Python and even Java Swing languages/frameworks.
All of that can be done and optimized in the established PHP / Apache / MySQL bunch.
(Please don't mention slow WP sites on shared hosting servers!)
I can't understand why would some project manager decide to use one of these if companies are facing with problems of quality and quantity of programmers. So why would some choose a NodeJS/python/Java when they are (usually) more expensive and when there is a huuuuuge pool of (senior) PHP talents out there?
Looking forward to replies with (real) arguments. :) -

People knew perfectly well that the world was round.

*sips java* Say what you want but I'm still employed after 16 years through hell and back in our unstable and unpredictable economic environment. You can rag on Java all you want, but I'm way too vested to change my mind. ;P

Please make more of these. Maybe one on Coffee Script or Java Spring?

What's wrong with C nginx modules?

I don't want to continue using Php for all my projects... but this is making me guilty for learning node ahaahah

LMFAO. -
The evidence is in all of the third party libraries out there that try to mitigate the complexity of NodeJS callback hell (BaconJS, HighlandJS, Q, bluebird, Async, ...).
Why use Node when Scala, Elixir, Erlang, Clojure, Haskell, Go, Rust, and others can handle the concurrency easily and have a proven model for doing so that doesn't create unnecessary complexity? -
