Lectric Cycles in Las Vegas Nevada (e-RAD, SmartMotion, Leckey)

Lectric Cycles is an electric bike shop in North Las Vegas Nevada that is also a producer and importer for e-RAD kits and SmartMotion ebikes. I visited their shop and took a tour with Chris Head in September 2016 to get a feel for their upcoming products and see the brand new space. This shop carries a wide range of ebikes from folding models, cargo e-bikes, mountain bikes and some very high power, high speed stuff. Lectric Cycles now offers converted KHS frames, Yuba and Tern folding electric bikes with their e-RAD motor and battery kits installed. Some of their dealers also offer this service and I was told they will even convert your existing bike to electric if you prefer. You get to choose which motor size you want from 350 to 750 to 1,000 watt and they have multiple battery sizes (all 48 volt now but 14.5 ah or 17.5 ah). Chris mentioned Virtue Cycles which also uses their e-RAD drive system for the Pedalist and other velomobile creations. We also explored some of the Leckey crank arms and chain rings made custom to fit BBS02 mid-drives and align pedaling more perfectly. There’s so much to share about Lectric Cycles and their sub-brands, I think one of the neatest things about their company is how they will customize frames and work with customers to get the final product just right… whether that means different battery sizes, larger motors, the perfect chain ring size or converting a bike that is brought in, they have the fabrication skills, tools and different parts to make it special and ideal for you. - Address: 3525 W Cheyenne Ave #109, North Las Vegas, NV 89032 - Phone: (702) 444-7474 - Lectric Cycles Website: http://www.lectriccycles.com/ - e-RAD Website: http://www.eradkits.com/ - SmartMotion Website: http://www.smartmotionbikesusa.com/

Digging the pacer, are we going to see a review soon? Can any of those hub motors compete with the Bosch drive?
-
That e-rad is unusable as a proper MTB with the motor hanging four inches under the BB.!?

Really informative video court and chris, amazing fabrication and machining from the company!

cool vid...
i have to point out the motor placement on the e rad full suspension mountain bike looks not to be "rock friendly" as it's slung rather low by the looks of it...okay for street riding though. -
can you please do some review on the luna cycle e bikes , thinking about buying one but can't find any reviews on them. thanks

LET ME TELL YOU PEOPLE! These guys are great, I am going to be in Germany a few years and almost bought a Haibike out here, but stopped literally mid-purchase and decided to get the KHS fully that Chris showed us in this video hanging on the wall. I spoke with him on the phone and his customer service is top notch. Letric cycles has a great attitude when it comes to working with people to get them a good product. This video was exciting for me because I am expecting the bike to get here any day and up until this video, I have only seen a picture of the bike. Too see them discuss the bike in this video has me super excited (just hope I got the new color screen, haha). Take away note: Customer service is SECOND TO NONE, they WILL take great care of you. Thanks Letric cycles and EBR!

Great interview. It's nice to learn that they are only a couple of hours away now. Interesting to hear what Chris said about DIY. I've noticed that Luna puts the emphasis on full assembly bikes, now, and Lectric is really getting into that side of things. Don't know what granite ceiling these guys hit, but it's striking to see the big vendors shift so dramatically to assembled ebikes.
I'd like to know how these Dapu geared hubs compare to the basic MAC geared motor, the MAC being a well regarded DIY motor. I think the Pedego mountain bike has cadence and torque sensing, that "Pedalsense" feature. Now they sell hub motors in assembled bikes, but no hubs for kits, still.
The bike lines are appealing. I liked the Smart Motion more until he said there was no front suspension fork, but what can you do. I'm glad he is pushing the 'unisex' concept for open frame type bikes.
You've reviewed quite a few bikes around $1500. Lectric does have a couple. The ebikes are getting better, and there is more value for every dollar spent. Chris is doing good things but Lectric seems a bit upscale for me. -
Nice callout of the BMS. Most manufacturers hide that conversation. Things like low voltage cut-off settings and cell monitoring are going to be useful. The main reason is because of winter riding. The behavior of the battery cells change as the weather changes and you don't want to be stuck halfway through your commute only to find out your range has changed when its already -10 out and miserable.
