Why is that when I screw my cartridge onto the head, it punctures the canister but it doesn't just leak a little bit, it carries on escaping where the canister was screwed on? As far as I'm aware there should only be a bit of c02 that escapes.
The control knob is closed and I'm not going too far when screwing it in as when I test to see if it's fitted by turning the knob, nothing comes out. Could it just be a dodgy head? -
A tire inflated with CO2 will lose a lot of its air within 24 hours. Fill with air asap.
CO2 is scientific notation for Carbon Dioxide, which is not the same as normal air. CO2 is much more soluble than air in butyl rubber, which is the rubber used in most bike tires. This means CO2 will leak out much more rapidly than air. While cartridges could theoretically be filled with other elements, like helium or nitrogen for example, CO2 is much easier to liquefy and store in moderate pressure containers.
Summary: CO2 will get you inflated and allow you to get where you're going, inflate with air at the next opportunity.
Really helpful video. Thanks very much! -
So just because I may be a bit slow. The cartridge is single use? Using my wife's account.

Dog repellent? Dude, where are you riding? haha

fanny pack hahahahahahaaaaahahah try saying that in england ahahahaha

zefal co2 pump won't fit my presta valves and looks very similar to co2 pump in your video above. I follow your instructions but the co2 just leaks out into no where, doesn't inflate the tube at all.

Thanks GREAT VIDEO! I wish I had seen it before I had my first flat on the trail!

What kind of cartridge adapter do you use, Chris?
-
T the start of the ride I put on magic clove which is a barrier liquid. I carry a small wet wipe towel. If i have a flat or chain disaster I can fix it and then wipe my hands on the wet wipe and I am ready and clean to go.

great video. Should be renamed to how to change a tube but this helped me a lot. thanks

this video is too long

Fantastic demo and how-to video post! Thanks for taking the time demonstrate all the idiosyncrasies and provide some little hints throughout to do it right. (i.e. inflate the tube slightly for ease of installation) I've never used CO2 before, I love it!
-
very interesting! where do you get the valve attachment for the CO2? also do they make the attachments for car valves? and other inflatable things like small boats ? would love a set of those attachments!!!

You need to inspect the tire both inside and out for thorns or whatever before you install the tube. If you don't you'll be wishing you had after the tire goes flat again.

You really shouldn't put your stand on your bike frame. You can easily damage your frame that way. It should be around the seat post.
