Will a light hardtail MB be good on gravel? Or a light carbon soft tail be better?

Do you recommend an mtb dropper seat post for an adventure bike on a track like the one you speak of???

Good information, as a beginner, I am researching this type of riding and found your article very helpful.

Practical, applied information from someone with experience. Most everything you say rings true to me. Great video!

Really great information for someone preparing for their first gravel race. Cheers!

I want 1/3 gravel 1/3 cross 1/3 road bike. I've heard that those bikes will be produced in 2017.

I agree with Vittoria Randonneur 700x32c (or 700x35c) for "your" (us) gravel roads. In Italy we have many gravel/dirty roads but roughly like, I guess, in England and many european countries. So, ciclocross tires or very treaded touring tires are better for our roads. This is explained why gravel bikes don't appeal (today) in Italy but MTB / CX only.

I thought my tires were too slick because I kept spinning them while riding up hills in dirt, then I watched a bunch of youtube videos and realized I need to start sitting down.
Thanks YouTube -
Your comments about having to jump from pavement to gravel to pavement in order to string together a nice route reminded me that I see gravel riders using road shoes and pedals. I am wanting to buy or build a gravel-worthy rig and using some road pedals and shoes I already have would cut costs considerably. I imagine it's like any other bit of kit - rider preference, but I just wondered what you thought, given your experience. Thanks!

I rode, in Europe and United States, with passion for more than fifty years. This man gives the best advice. Intelligent and appropriate comments.

Eh Graeme, just curious, what has been your most exciting cycling experience?- Why?

am wondering +cyclocore if u are still high on/using Rotor Q rings and cranks on any/all of your bikes??? Its been 5+ yrs since they were (becoming?) the rage with non-pro (but wannabes.....) riders, and we'd def would like to hear what you're up to nowdays, equipment-wise, that is.
I'm thinking 'bout em, that, and smaller crank arms for next yr/season on triathlons. -
+cyclocore Hi, I'm really interested in your training systems/plans. I have to say that I'm a little bit confused by how your website is set up, or maybe I just don't understand how it works. Is there a link to a page on your site that shows a good overview what the specific plans are tailored for?
I'm 30, want to do the Dirty Kanza 200 next year and as a long term goal the Tour Divide.
Thank you! -
Could not agree more with you on the gearing..
