ok I think I lost my BB's somewhere back @ 3:00 lol I'd have to write this down to get a grip about the product #'s
but at least I know I can install a 91mm crank in my 29er MTNB -
hello i have a question. i have a 73mm 113mm square tapered shell for the moment on my rocky mountain bike. I bought a new frame but the bb length is 68 mm. What size bb should i buy? 68mm 113mm or will the 5 mm less of the frame change the size of the bb?

I am sorry. You complicated the matter to the point as if you are speaking about a jet engine.
Dislike. -
I got two words for you: SQUARE TAPER!! Super strong and a lot more durable than these shit bottom brackets and crank sets. I've always used it for any of my bikes and I've never had a problem. Heck, when I switched both my road bike and single speed frames I was able to transfer both the bottom bracket and crank set with no problems whatsoever! 12 years and counting for the road bike cranks and 8 years for the single speed. Still works like a charm. #SquareTaper4Life

very good explanation

Mine is there.. :( mine has threads to screw in the bracket.. Perhaps it's cheap bike 😒

He keeps smacking in between statements, am I the only one irritated by that? Good info but I'm distracted from it by the nervous smacking. I feel like a jerk for noticing that.

it used to be a slippery seat post blues..... I got that with my new top of the line bike and 2 weeks later it was the newer version - the BB30 bottom bracket blues. Constant maintenance, re-greasing, the whiff of rain and it start creaking. Installing new bearings to see if that helps - if not it's off to 24mm adapter and new cranks.

Awesome video!

VERY helpful, cheers !!

I hate it when companies just decide to change the industry standards into something of their own. seriously there is nothing wrong with the Italian/English BB's and it was so simple to change them and service them, but they always find a way to spoil the classic simplicity of things.

Very good video, thanks.

nice frame you got there!

Thank you, that set the record straight. Perhaps the proliferation of these standards -- a term that's becoming more of a misnomer with each new spec -- may comprise the point where increased complexity intersects diminishing returns for the end user.
Been riding and servicing BSA BB's for decades -- if it ain't broke don't fix it. But, of course, all these new BB designs have more to do with the amenities of manufacturers than riders. -
so if i got an ES-25 OCTALINK on my Scott Aspect MTBike 29er and i want to up grade a cranckset waht will be BB86/91 or PF30 internal cup i kind of confuse here, any help welcome
