2017 Scott Scale 710 Plus Preview

In this video Peter from Contender Bicycles talks about the new 2017 Scott Scale 710 Plus.The Scott Scale Plus hardtail is now offered in more options for 2017. This is a bike that many of us got a lot of use out of in the past year and for most has changed the way the ride. All of the new Scale Plus models share the same alloy frame with the major differences being in their parts mix. On the top end is this Scale 710 Plus that we have been able to get our hands on early and take to the trail. Scott has re-designed this year’s Scale Plus to be even more fun on the trail and take full advantage of its 2.8 inch wide tires superior traction and stability. The new frame has a slacker headtube to put the front wheel a little further out and improve the bike’s ability to roll over obstacles. Put that in combination with short chainstays and lightweight alloy construction to make the Scale Plus an all-around trail bike at a nice price. Early test rides have shown that the Scale 710 Plus will climb like it’s on an escalator and take to tricky descents with greater confidence. This being the top end Scale Plus the 710 is stocked with a 120mm Fox Float 32 fork and SRAM GX1 1x11 drivetrain. We like riding the fully tubeless-ready wheels and tires down to nearly 10 psi (depending on rider weight) for superior stability and unreal traction, particularly when our summer trails turn to moondust. Though a full-suspension bike will always be more comfortable on epic rides, bikes like the Scale 710 Plus hardtail will rule on shorter singletrack sessions. With three versions of the Scale Plus available it is easy for riders at all levels to enjoy a trail-friendly hardtail that can be ridden almost anywhere.
