2014 Fuji Absolute 1.3 Disc/ Gravel Grinder
biciclette recensioni | biciclette Video | biciclette on-line
Just a short video of my 2014 Fuji Absolute 1.3 Disc. I did a lot of research, test riding and this bike is such a great deal.. These are some things I like about the bike, nice group set, carbon fork, internal cable routing and disc brakes giving it plenty of clearance for much wider tires. I will be swapping the 700 x 28 road tires for a set of Kenda Happy Medium 700 x 32. With the new tires it'll be a great gravel grinder and exactly what I need.

After a bit of research I too picked up a 1.3 disc absolute and I love it,
Fairly new to bike commuting everyday but the bike feels solid, fast, comfortable and still aggressive enough to keep me pushing for a much faster and precise ride.
I might jump to 32c tires but I don't wanna lose any speed -
beautiful! I regret selling my 2005 Giant cypress SX 105 rapid fire triggers, 3x9 hayes disc brakes. sold it as it was going to be cost restrictive to convert to from front suspension to rigid. Now I see there are not many choices out here. Wide tire capable, disc brake, rigid fork, flat bar, preferable 3x with 105 quality components.... isn't happening. Praxis works does offer a 48/36 chainring combo.. which might be good. (never ridden it.)
anyways long story short.... drop bars are okay, but I have road bike and single speed for that. the gravel grinder, rack and bag bike errand bike is better being flatbar w/barends for me. -
music?

It's a hybrid, but gravel grinder sounds better.

Thank you for sharing this video, I am currently searching through this category of bikes, and Fuji has perfect specs for me (mechanical brakes, 9 speed). Can you tell me what kind of valve there is -- it looks like presta, but I would like to be sure if it is presta or auto? And another question -- do you know what is the maximum width of tire that bike can take? Front fork looks spacy, but in the rear I am very afraid what I could put. Thank you in advance for your help.

I took a chance without having one to ride at the LBS so I just ordered mine this week. They found a 2014 Absolute 1.3 in stock at the distributor. That's what I wanted as it looks like they dumbed down the 2015 a little, especially with Tekro mechanical brakes. I'm coming from a Trek 7300 FX disc about 10 years old. I wanted something with similar geometry but updated. The Trek 7.4FX Disc is close and has hydraulic brakes, but I wanted carbon fork and I wanted to try something different . I have no complaints for what it is, The Trek was a good bike for 10 years, only things I had to replace were wheels and the chain and I have a lot of miles on it. I guess the Absolute 1.3 is a little more road oriented than trail oriented with skinnier tires (which I might change to 32s) and the 2 cogs up front instead of 3. How do you find shifting from the small cog to the large cog? Is it usually requiring a double shift? Did you swap your tires and did it change the ride?

Hey Gravel, I have the same bike. I had to return the bike for tweaking before I even rode it. Front shifter wasn't aligned and the manager wouldn't tell me in detail but they must've not assembled it properly. So now, I'm told that I should avoid the smallest front gear and rear gear being run at the same time.I'm told the gears are just a little too offline when it's lined up like this. The other gears are ok except for this one combination. Are you having this issue too? Otherwise, the seat, brakes, steering, comfort seem ok so far. I haven't been doing more than 12-15 mile runs though. Nothing to brag about but some decent cardio and I ride along the lake so....some fishing is involved too :)

Did you order the same model? It doesn't have any holes in the pedals but I really like the pedals even though there not clip less which can be a easy switch. The sear doesn't have a quick release but once you get it in the right position you don't really need it anyway, I feel the quick release on the seatpost is just easier for people to quickly get at your saddle when you leave the bike locked up anywhere. It also has two gears (compact gearing) in the front which I really like this is what all the higher end bike's are now coming with. I've been used to this from my Specialized road bike's anyway. Overall so happy with the bike I was looking at Treks and Specialized which is what I usually buy and they couldn't compete with this level of components, carbon fork for anywhere near this price.

This bike is almost perfect for me and my needs. I just ordered mine. Only could test the Fuji 1.7 because that's all they had in stock. I see in your video that the crank has 2 not three gears? Also, do you have holes in your peddles to add/screw in the toe clips? I also didn't see a quick release lever on the seat post. Does it have one like I saw on your rims? I guess I'll find out soon enough in a couple of weeks but I'm dying of curiosity.
