i made a similar cart with a 3.5 horse briggs engine and a pulley system that used a v belt as a clutch device. once free rolling you could use the throttle. it was so fast it was scary.

I say ANY person building their own electric vehicle/transportation is awesome... powerful or not. We only have 10kva solar on our 100 acre farm & we have more than we need for welding and everyday living, so all we need to do as a race is use green solutions to power our lives and watch the ONLY planet we have repair slowly.. and I used to hate "Greenies & Hippies" but now I realize "They were right all along."
